About

Started in 2024, somewhere between a backyard carne asada and an existential crisis on the 405, Smog & Sprawl is my way of saying “I love L.A.” in the most L.A. way possible, by pointing out the city's flaws.

After living abroad and missing the smell of hot asphalt and bacon-wrapped hot dogs, I came back to L.A. with a fresh perspective. I missed the culture, the chaos, the diversity, the tacos (my God, the tacos) and the kind of weather that makes people forget how rent works. But I also saw a city full of brands that either romanticized L.A. into a luxury fantasy or acted like everyone lived in a glass box in the hills.

Smog & Sprawl is the opposite of that. It’s a brand for the rest of us. The ones raised on street tacos, late-night parking lot hangouts, and the occasional unsolicited earthquake. We celebrate L.A.’s beauty and its dysfunction, because both are part of the story. I mean, what’s L.A. without a little lovingly aggressive complaining anyway?

Thanks for riding with us (no transponder needed).
